Do you sense a call to go deeper in prayer? Do you feel a compassion and desire to bring before God the concerns of our church and our world? Then perhaps God is calling you to become a part of the Prayer Ministry. The goal of the Prayer Ministry is to help cultivate spiritual listening skills, to lift up needs of our local church and the church universal, to practice the presence of God through many types of prayer and intercession, to pray prayers of thanksgiving and joy for God’s gifts, to pray for our enemies, and to become ready servants of Christ through prayer. You are invited to prayerfully consider being involved in one or more of the activities of the Prayer Ministry.

·        Pray for requests sent to you by email or Facebook or phone-- You set the time

·        Praying in the sanctuary or prayer room--30-60 min per month

·        Serving in the prayer room before or after church-- Once per month

·        Send notes to those on the prayer list-- one hour per month

·        Join a Bible study on prayer--time varies

·        Meet weekly with others for encouragement and group centering prayer-- one hour per week

·        Be part of a team that prays for special events such as youth events, confirmation, baptisms, beginning of school, mission trips, etc. --15-30 min per event

·        Prayer walks-within the church and community--2-4 times per year

·        Prayer Maps-praying with a map of Lancaster and the World-- once per month

Seeking the direction of the Holy Spirit is extremely important in prayer ministries. A deep sense of seeking and trusting the Lord is crucial. If you feel God is calling you to this prayer ministry, part or whole, take this list of activities into your personal prayer time and ask God to lead you in your decision. Whether you feel you are a seasoned pray-er or someone who wants to learn more, please consider and pray about becoming involved in our Prayer Ministry as we strive to be connected with Christ, our Community, and one another through God’s Love and Grace.
